Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Tournament at Ballard School

On Friday 18th March, our Tag Rugby players from Year 5/6 went to the annual Tag Rugby tournament for schools across the New Forest.
The tournament was at Ballard School, started at 9.00am and went on all the way through to 5.00pm. 34 teams took part.
Our team had a fantastic day playing Tag Rugby, meeting children from other schools and generally having lots of fun.
It was great to see the team improve their rugby skills more and more as the day went on. The initial group stage saw us finish third having won one, lost one and drawn one. The drawn game being a six tries each thriller with Ringwood Junior School.
This put us into the 'Vase' competition for the rest of the day. We won our way through to the semi finals which we just lost by only a one try margin. We went on to finish fourth in the 'vase' overall, just missing out on a medal position.
Our team were praised by many others for their friendly and sporting approach to the game. They never dropped their smiles and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were VERY proud of all our team members, they were all a credit to our school.
Team: Lily Plummer, Maddie Sawyer, Millie Green, Jack Buttle Neil, Taylor White, Roche Weeks, Matthew Goodall, Jack Farrell, George King, Alex Brown and Bobby Hockley.

Baking Club.  Jam tarts.

This week, we learned how to make pastry for jam tarts.  I forgot to take a photo of the finished results, but they looked delicious!  Here are a few pictures of the bakers in action.

We mixed vegetable oil with water and food colouring and then added salt to create a substance which acts like lava.
