We then decided to change one thing at a time (as real scientists do) to explore what would happen. We had the choice of using m & m's, oil, lemonade and vinegar.
Vinegar
Lemonade
Lemonade, M & M's and Skittles
After the experiments, we had a discussion about the liquids we used and the Science behind the experiment. We found out that Skittles are made out of ingredients that are prone (more likely) to dissolve in water. It happens quite quickly, so they're a fun experiment for children.
Millie explained that the vinegar made the skittles dissolve more quickly because they were acidic.
What a wonderful first Science club. Thank you to our budding Scientists for their careful thinking, excitement, ideas and great sense of fun!
