We had to be super careful with our experiment in Science Club this week. Miss Moffat didn't realise that the children would be so nervous to put pencils through a plastic bag...but then again, the bag was full of water!
The children were challenged to poke holes in a plastic bag full of water without spilling a drop!
We worked out that as the sharp pencil went through the plastic it formed a temporary seal against the edge of the pencil. If the children pushed the pencil too far through, or removed the pencil it opened the seal and the water leaked out!

Layering Liquids
Yesterday in Science Club we layered liquids. We were given various drinks (squash, juice, sugary water) and we had to try and get different layers in our test tubes. We discovered that there is a certain technique to make sure the layers are clean and clear.
Willow really mastered the technique!
Miss T even had a go at it!
